Project A.W.A.Y – Alternative Ways to Address Youth   

Synthesis of the existing alternative diversion ways in the juvenile justice system in Belgium, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania

The Project AWAY addresses juvenile justice, including by promoting alternative diversion measures for juveniles in conflict with the law.

AWAY is coordinated by the Regional Office for Central and South Eastern Europe of the Foundation „Terre des hommes” and implemented in partnership with the Judicial System Development Programme (Bulgaria), Brave Phone (Croatia), Defence for Children International (DCI) and the International Juvenile Justice Observatory (Belgium), Global Network for Public Interest Law – PILNET and the Foundation „Terre des hommes” – Switzerland (Romania)

Within this project, a comparative survey has been developed summarizing the results of national research, briefly describing the existing juvenile justice system in Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary and Romania with a special focus on the alternative diversion  measures).
